The ethos behind Ecotec’s environmental statement policy is to provide a range of hygiene and cleaning services that enhance and promote the workplace of our clients and for the benefit of their stakeholders.
We believe that today’s businesses are responsible for achieving good environmental practice and operating in a sustainable, eco-friendly manner.
Ecotec is therefore committed to reducing its environmental impact and to continually improving its environmental performance as an integral and fundamental part of its business strategy and operating methods by applying our environmental statement policy.
Ecotec’s environmental statement policy aim is to achieve this without compromising on its standards of service or quality. We are also committed to offering a safer working environment for our operatives, together with the prevention of pollution with continual monitoring and improvement of environmental impacts of our activities, products and services in order to provide a more eco-friendly service.
How Ecotec's Environmental Statement Policy Makes a Difference.
Ecotec fully embraces the objectives and ethos of the ISO 14001 environmental management systems, and strives to work with suppliers who share this vision, and who have, or are committed to achieving ISO 14001 accreditation.
As a leading supplier of Kitchen Hygiene Cleaning Services, Ecotec focuses its efforts on issues where its activities and services have a direct environmental impact and strives to minimise or offset these impacts through its ISO 14001 commitment as well as through partnership with its clients.

Ecotec Is Committed To Clients And Staff In The Following Ways:
- To applying best practice wherever possible and continuing to develop a more comprehensive environmental statement policy.
- To regularly evaluating all aspects of our business to ensure that we constantly provide the best service to our clients while reducing the impact of doing so on the environment.
- To using and supporting the use where possible of environmentally responsible cleaning materials & methods, including the use of dry steam technology, thus reducing the use of non eco- friendly chemicals.
- To increasing its use of eco-friendly, biodegradable products each year.
- To promoting the use of renewable and sustainable resources, whilst ensuring that where possible, products reaching their end of life are recycled or disposed of in the most eco-friendly way.
- To communicating our environmental statement policy clearly to our management, staff, clients and suppliers.
- To minimising energy and water usage in our buildings, vehicles and processes in order to conserve supplies, and minimising our consumption of natural resources, especially where they are non-renewable.
- To seek ongoing improvement in our environmental credentials by providing continuous training and increasing awareness amongst employees, clients & suppliers.
- To monitoring and reporting on our environmental performance and results each year in an unbiased and honest manner.
Ecotec Environmental Statement Policy Initiatives for 2010/11
Ecotec regularly participates in focused initiatives to develop and promote environmental improvement.
To This End Ecotec Currently Has Two Environmental Statement Policy Initiatives for 2010/11:
- To reduce our carbon foot print. We continually review the most eco- friendly transport available and have undertaken a programme of investing in fuel efficient vehicles where appropriate and reducing unnecessary road journeys with a target of reducing its service miles driven by 7% in 2010/11.
- Our second initiative is to reduce the amount of cleaning products by 10% over the next two years with the use of dry steam technology. This system allows us to use the power of dry steam cleaning where possible, thus reducing our dependency on cleaning products, and therefore making deep cleaning safer for our staff, clients and in so doing reducing our impact on the environment.
